Cambridge (4 or 5 days per week in office)
£80,000 - 90,000 + 10% Bonus
Talentedge Tech are partnering once again with an internationally recognised audio business to recruit a Principal Hardware Engineer to join a specialist team developing premium, high-performance audio products for global audiences.
This is a rare opportunity to work on top quality audio electronics, collaborating with a small team of highly experienced engineers responsible for delivering exceptional sound quality and innovative amplifier designs.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing and developing high-performance analogue and digital audio hardware
- Working on analogue amplifier circuitry and system-level audio design
- PCB design reviews using Altium, with a focus on EMC and low-noise design
- Hardware debugging, validation and audio performance testing
- Collaborating with software, mechanical and manufacturing teams throughout product development
- Driving technical innovation and influencing future product architecture
We're looking for engineers with:
- Significant experience designing audio hardware (This is essential)
- Strong analogue electronics and amplifier design expertise
- Experience with high-performance consumer audio systems
- PCB design and schematic review experience (Altium preferred)
- Excellent hardware debugging and audio measurement skills
Bonus points for:
- Premium consumer electronics experience
- LTSpice/PSpice simulation
- EMC compliance knowledge
- Experience with Python, LabVIEW or automated test systems
- Familiarity with I2C, SPI, I2S, USB and other serial interfaces
What's in it for you?:
- Salary from around £75,000 - £90,000 + 10% bonus
- Cambridge base location, this is a predominantly ON-SITE role, with small amounts of flexibility.
