Glensound specializes in commentary systems, eSports interfaces, Dante & Ravenna network audio interfaces, intercom, network speakers, and many other products used in demanding broadcast and live event environments. Team members work closely with broadcast customers worldwide and contribute to reliable audio solutions trusted across the industry.

Role Description The Embedded Software Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Maidstone, Kent. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software for Glensound’s audio products, working closely with hardware and product design teams. Day-to-day tasks include developing firmware for new devices, enhancing existing software features, and ensuring robust integration with audio and communication hardware and remote control systems. The engineer will debug and troubleshoot embedded systems, perform code reviews, and contribute to documentation and testing procedures to meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. Collaboration with other engineers and participation in product development discussions are encouraged in this role, although you will largely work on your own individual products. There are opportunities to influence future audio solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Embedded Software Programming and Embedded Software for real-time systems.
  • Proficiency in Software Development, including coding, integration, and optimization for embedded platforms.
  • Experience with Software Design, including modular architecture and maintainable code structures.
  • Solid Debugging skills for embedded systems, using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with C/C++ required for embedded development and familiarity with microcontrollers or DSPs.
  • Understanding of network audio, communication protocols, or broadcast systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and collaborate effectively with electronics engineers.
  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to work on site

As we are looking for an experienced software engineer, the salary package will reflect this.
