Position: Oromo Music Expert

Type: Part-time position

Compensation: $50-$70 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 2-5 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

• Transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
• Recognize and notate key, tempo, and time signature from audio
• Accurately handle sung lyrics in Oromo, including accents and less-clear vocal delivery
• Work on training and enhancing generative music AI systems using musical expertise

Requirements

• Formal musical training or professional experience (degree in music, or experience as a musician, composer, transcriber, engineer, or teacher)
• Strong ear for music, including the ability to transcribe melodies by ear with accurate pitch and rhythm
• Ability to recognize key, tempo, and time signature
• Strong fluency in Oromo, sufficient to accurately handle sung lyrics
